My history
“I had been using the Mirena hormonal IUD coil for nearly 11 years. It did the job perfectly but one of the side effects for some people is that you stop getting your period. This was definitely true for me so for over 11 years I haven’t had a regular cycle. I had no idea how long it was or when I was likely to ovulate. Obviously not knowing this information isn’t ideal when it comes to TTC so I was eager to figure it out.
I’m a scientist and much of the information found online is very unscientific. I was searching for a solution that would not only help me conceive and learn about my cycle, but would also be based on solid scientific data (rather than thresholds or something else). Mira was one of the only solutions that offered this so it was really a no brainer for me to get it.”
Using Mira
“The scientific and data aspect of Mira was what drew me to the device in the first place. I was able to see clear, accurate, and scientific data about my cycle that ultimately helped me get pregnant. I began testing with Mira right after getting the IUD out and Mira got the ovulation window spot on! In fact, using that data I got pregnant on my first cycle after removing the IUD.
I couldn’t believe I was able to get pregnant on my first cycle without my IUD. It almost seemed too easy but I know that it’s because I knew exactly when I ovulated thanks to my hormone data.
